Hello and welcome to the New Year and the Spring term.

We are learning all about 'Our Precious World' this term. Both reception classes are beginning by looking at the continent of Africa. We will be comparing the climate, food, culture and animals found in Wales to those found in various places in Africa.
We will be finding more out about life for children in Uganda by chatting to Mrs. Richards who will soon be visiting out twin school - Sikusi Primary in Mbale. We would be grateful for any jungle animals and stories related to the topic or any  artefacts from Africa..

After January 31st we will move on to celebrate the Chinese New Year.So the children will have the chance to taste some chinese food. As always, let us know about any allergies.

The reception children are making fantastic progress with their reading - so keep up the good work at home and continue to return folders on the stated days.

Thankyou, Mrs. Brown

Autumn Term

Hi and welcome to all the new children who have  all now settled well into Area 3. They are having great fun learning all about colour as our theme is 'Wonderful world of Colour.' We have already had a visit from 'Mrs. Rainbow' and the children have all been very busy making lots of rainbow necklaces and biscuits etc for her return.

Well done also for all the help received towards the Macmillan Coffee Morning - the school managed to raise over £1000 for the charity.

Very soon it will be Parents Evening and there will be chance to catch up with what your child has been doing since September and look forward to the next step. There will also be a Reception Reading Evening for you to attend.

Saturday 2 March 2013

Land Ahoy!!

Pirates have arrived in Area 3. There have been some very strange sightings around the school and we found a pirate bandana left mysteriously on the Pirate ship. Ask your child to explain what's been going on in our Area.
Thankyou Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Evans

Look how busy we have been.

Class 11 have really enjoyed our Teddy Bear theme. They brought in lots of bears and we had a Teddy Bears Picnic in the Golden Garden. We made our own sandwiches and the most popular choice waas ham!
We have been busy cutting our own sandwiches!
We have been very busy in Class 11 learning all about the time!! We made a giant clock and have been learning to tell the times we come to school, have dinner and go home.

Can you help your child look at the clock at home and work out what time is bedtime and teatime?
Thankyou,
Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Evans

Hi to everyone,
Nice to meet you all in Parent's Evening this week to catch up on the latest news about your children. As stated last week, your children will be receiving their Reading folders this week if they are in Reception.
We had an exciting first half term with a visit by the doctor and nurse, and lots of exciting questions from the children.
The class are enjoying their role play area - the Doctor's Surgery with some real doctors equipment donated by Dr. Meredith who came to visit!
They are also enjoying finding out about life at home over 100 years ago and have been very enthusiastic to join in with 'washday' and trying porridge for breakfast.
A reminder also that it is 'Children in Need' on Friday so don't forget pyjamas!
Your children should also recieve information this week about what to dress in for the Christmas concert which is already underway!
Thank you Mrs. Brown    Mrs. Evans

Hi all,

Welcome back. The children have settled in really well and are getting used to the new routines and classroom.  Miss Williams is now Mrs Evans!  She had a super wedding in Cyprus!

I'm sure you have all read the letter we sent out about the term ahead of us. If you have any queries please call in and see me. Thanks for all completing the sheets on 'All About Me'. We have already looked at some ideas that were suggested.

The Year One children are looking at 'Ble wyt ti'n byw?'  They are designing their own house using different shapes in Maths, as well as looking at the area we live and their addresses.
Can I remind you that PE day is a Monday and that children need to bring a pair of wellies to school as we will be starting Forest School shortly

We have a fun term ahead of us!

Bye for now!

Mrs Brown and Mrs Evans
